History of St. Elizabeth’s

About St. Elizabeth’s International School

St. Elizabeth’s International School was born from a powerful vision: to offer a world-class education rooted in strong values, deep respect for every individual, and a sense of global belonging. Founded by Gabriela Clemente, a passionate educator and global citizen, our school brings international excellence to the heart of Košice.

Gabriela’s journey through education has taken her across continents, from her early days at the bilingual Gymnázium J. A. Komenského in Košice to summer schools in Great Britain, high school and university in the United States, and later, parenting and professional life in Mexico, where her children studied at one of the country’s top school. Each step helped shape her unique perspective on what exceptional education truly means.

When Gabriela returned to her birthplace of Košice five years ago with her two children, she was reminded of its charm, safety, and beauty, an ideal place to raise a family. But she also noticed a significant gap: the absence of an educational institution that truly prepares children for the global stage, with instruction in English, a holistic curriculum, and an inclusive, forward-thinking community.

St. Elizabeth’s International School is her answer to that gap.
Our school is built on the belief that children thrive when they are seen, heard, and challenged. We are committed to providing not just academic excellence, but a well-rounded education that nurtures mental health, physical well-being, creativity, and character.

For high school students, we offer the IB Diploma Program (IBDP), an academically challenging and internationally respected program that emphasizes academic excellence, personal development, and global citizenship. The IB Diploma provides students with a well-rounded education, preparing them for higher education and leadership roles in a globalized world.

Core Components:
The IBDP includes the Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). These elements encourage students to engage in independent research, reflective thinking, and community involvement.
